Leather Care Guide

Caring for your leather boots and shoes not only keeps them looking good, but also extends the durability and life of the leather.

A waterproof spray and quality stain should be applied to leathers before wear, and shoes regularly cleaned with a soft cotton cloth. For soft leathers, a quality shoe polish (matching the shoe colour) can be applied with a clean soft cloth to help restore and condition the leather. Conditioning leather helps to keep the material soft and moisturised, preventing the leather from drying out and cracking.

A waterproof spray should also be applied to suede shoes and boots before wear.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR LOOKING AFTER YOUR LEATHER SHOES

Test all products on a small inconspicuous patch before applying to the entire shoe.

Allow the shoes to dry at room temperature after treatment, keeping away from heaters and other heat sources that could dry out the leather.

Avoid storing your shoes in shoeboxes for extended periods of time as this can cause the deterioration of some materials.
